    Monday – Thursday 11:00 – 3:00

Drop-In tutoring via Zoom will work very much like drop-in tutoring at the Math Skills Center lab. A student can come join the Zoom meeting, the student will be put into a breakout room where the student can work on homework. If the student needs help with a homework question the student can “Ask a question” and a peer-tutor will be added to the breakout room to help. Peer-tutors will help as many students as possible so a student may have to wait a few minutes to be assigned a tutor to answer their question, please show respect and be patient.

    Instructions for Joining Drop-In tutoring:

    1. Sign into your Zoom account using your star ID and password. You can sign in via the Zoom App or the Web Portal but the Web Portal does have some annotation limitations.
    2. Join the Meeting using the Meeting ID 763 433 1260.
    3. You will be admitted to the waiting room where the host will ask you to fill out the student sign in form.
    4. You will then be admitted to a breakout room where you will be able to work on your homework privately at your own pace, if you need help click the “ask for help” button at the bottom of your Zoom Tools and a tutor will come to your breakout room to assist you.

If you have any trouble logging into Drop-In tutoring, please call the Math Skills Center at 763-433-1260 for assistance.

  • Yes, you!

Peer tutors are Anoka-Ramsey students who excel in their course work and possess skills and qualities that make them valuable tutors. In addition, peer tutors have been recommended by Anoka-Ramsey faculty as demonstrating superior subject knowledge.

Your success in a recent class may be valuable to students who will take that same class in the future. If you feel like you would enjoy tutoring your peers in a subject where you've been particularly successful, please follow the recommendations for becoming a peer tutor.

How to Become a Peer Tutor

    • One way to become a peer tutor is to receive a recommendation from an instructor. You may speak with an instructor in the field of study that you would like to tutor.
    • You may also contact any of our tutoring centers to learn more about peer tutoring.
    • If you are recommended by a professor to become a peer tutor, all tutors must complete the necessary peer tutor training and the required face-to-face training sessions on your campus.
