College hosts Healthcare Career Fair, Thursday, Dec. 1

The Anoka-Ramsey Community College Coon Rapids Campus will host a Healthcare Career Fair on Thursday, Dec. 1, 11 am to 2 pm. Sponsored by the Student Nurse Association, this event is free and the public is encouraged to attend.
There will be more than 15 employers attending the fair including: Accurate Home Care, Guardian Angels Senior Services, North Memorial Health Care, Regency Home Health Care and the U.S. Army.
Several colleges will also be available to answer transfer question: Metropolitan State University, Concordia University, College of St. Scholastica, Augsburg College and Bemidji State University.
Entertainment and educational activities will take place throughout the entire duration of the fair including: interview tips, food, games, prizes, resume building workshop, guest speakers and scrubs available for purchase.
There will also be a Kaplan NCLEX prep session giveaway, a prize valued at $499.
"We are excited to present to you the Healthcare Career Fair,” said Samantha Medved, one of the Nursing students helping to host the event. “Our mission is to develop future healthcare professionals and facilitate network opportunities to help individuals prepare for and create a thriving career. Our vision is striving to provide tools and employment opportunities to maintain professional relationships and foster individual growth. Our goal is to educate and empower the community for professional success throughout their career pursuits.”
Anoka-Ramsey’s Nursing program is a member of the Minnesota Alliance for Nursing Education (MANE) consortium. The Nursing program admits 112 students every semester, with a graduation rate of 85 percent or higher. Since implementing the MANE curriculum, the program has seen even higher graduation and completion rates, including successful board certifications for students.
