Anoka-Ramsey and St. Cloud State team up to offer a university experience with community college support

July 29, 2021

Anoka-Ramsey Community College and St. Cloud State University (SCSU), both members of the Minnesota state system of colleges and universities, have renewed their commitment to entering freshman with the Community College Connection (CCC) program.

“It's exciting to provide students an opportunity like this that offers extra support, guidance and skills to be successful in a university setting,” said Shannon Kirkeide, Anoka-Ramsey dean of academic and community outreach. “Our ultimate goal is to help students develop the confidence to persist and complete a four-year degree, and Anoka-Ramsey is proud to collaborate with a fantastic partner like St. Cloud State to make this goal a reality.”

The CCC program is geared toward students who may need or want additional support and learning to start their college experience. It prepares students for success at the university level by:

  • helping students adopt strategies for college success
  • developing positive attitudes for learning
  • maximizing personal growth
  • providing an introduction to university life and activities

CCC students begin their college experience as both Anoka-Ramsey and St. Cloud State students by taking Anoka-Ramsey classes on the St. Cloud State campus, participating in St. Cloud State activities and events and, if they choose, living on the St. Cloud State campus.

As a student in the CCC program, students pay Anoka-Ramsey’s low-cost tuition and then fees to St. Cloud State.

Interested students can apply online through Anoka-Ramsey by selecting the Coon Rapids Campus , choosing the Associate of Arts (AA)/transfer option and then selecting “St. Cloud State University-Connections” as a program of interest at the end of the application.
