Anoka-Ramsey Community College will showcase student actors in the fall production of 33 Variations by Moises Kaufman, Oct. 28 and 29, Nov. 3, 4, and 5, 7:30 pm in the Coon Rapids Campus Performing Arts Center.
“There are so many things to be excited for about 33 Variations,” said student-actor Courtney Von Vett, cast in the role of Clara Brandt. “This is a very emotional play with a beautiful script and a great cast!”
College Faculty member Lisa Weaver is the director of the play and Music Faculty member Liz Kuivinen will perform the music.
“33 Variations is more than just a play, it’s a celebration of life,” said student-actor Brandon Osero, playing the role of Beethoven. “There is a deep emotional element to this play as well as great humor. I’m really excited for the audience to experience everything the cast has worked so hard to portray!”
More about 33 Variations by Moises Kaufman
33 Variations focuses on a mother coming to terms with her daughter and a composer coming to terms with his genius. Though they are separated by 200 years, the mother and composer share an obsession that might, even just for a moment, make time stand still. Drama, memory and music combine to transport the audience from present-day New York to 19th-century Austria in this extraordinary new American play about passion, parenthood and the moments of beauty that can transform a life.
33 Variations Play Performance
Oct. 28 and 29; Nov. 3, 4, and 5, 2016
7:30 pm
Coon Rapids Campus Performing Arts Center
