March 18, 2019
Anoka-Ramsey Community College will host visiting artist Sergei Isupov on Monday, March. 25 from 9 am to 4:30 pm at the Coon Rapids Campus. The open house-style workshop is free and open to the public.
Isupov has a long international resume with work in numerous collections and exhibitions, including the National Gallery of Australia, Museum of Fine Arts in Houston Texas, Museum of Arts and Design, Racine Art Museum, Museum of Fine Arts Boston, and Hidden Messages, a 20-year career survey was presented at the Erie Art Museum in 2017.
Organized in conjunction with the National Council on Education for the Ceramic Arts Conference, Isupov’s work is currently on display at The Museum of Russian Art in an exhibition titled, Surreal Promenade.
During this intimate workshop, guests will get the opportunity to see Isupov’s approach to making art and hear firsthand how his ideas are born and developed.
“To see Sergei’s work up close and in-person is really a surreal experience,” said Mark Lambert, Anoka-Ramsey Art Department faculty member. “Anoka-Ramsey is committed to hosting visiting artist workshops because of the enriching educational experience it brings to our students and the community.”
