First annual college scholarship fundraising event exceeds expectations
The Anoka-Ramsey Community College Foundation is hosting an evening of good food, music, theater, and “rising stars”: A Night with the Stars Scholarship Fundraiser, Thursday, Feb. 18, 2016, 5:30 to 10 pm, Coon Rapids Campus, Legacy Room. Tickets are $60 per person and include food, drink and the theater production of Guys & Dolls.

The first annual Anoka-Ramsey Community College Coon Rapids Campus fundraising event titled A Night With the Stars in February drew more than 100 people, and raised $24,500 in funds for scholarships.
“I would simply like to thank all of our attendees for making the first A Night With the Stars event so successful,” said Interim Executive Foundation Director Jamie Barthel. “Scholarships change the lives of so many deserving students.”
Sponsors who gave $5,000 were given the distinction of 5 Star Sponsor. Allina Health was the sole 5 Star Sponsor this year.
Giving $2,500 earned a 4 Star Sponsor distinction for DLR Group, McGough Construction and Susan and Verne McPherson.
Giving $1,000 earned a 3 Star Sponsor Distinction for Anoka Ramsey Community College, Connexus Energy, Northeast Bank, SpeedPro Imaging, Suzanne Begin and Professional & Workforce Training.
And giving $500 earned a 2 Star Sponsor distinction for The Bank of Elk River, Dan & Kathy Erhart, Jim & Pam Deal, Julie Gotham and the Blaine/Ham Lake Rotary, Kent & Lynne Hanson and WSB and Associates.
Attendees enjoyed appetizers, a cash bar, live music by the college’s Jazz Ensemble and a walk down the hall of “Stars” to the production of Guys and Dolls performance by the Anoka-Ramsey Community College Theater and Music Departments.
