The public is invited to join Anoka-Ramsey Community College faculty, staff and students for an evening of walking, hiking, or skiing along two miles of candlelit trails along the Rum River.
23rd Annual Candlelight Ski and Friluftsliv* Festival
Saturday, Feb. 21
5:30 to 8:00 pm
5:30 to 8:00 pm
Cambridge Campus Outdoor Patio
Free and open to the public.
Friluftsliv (“free–loofts-liv”) is Scandinavian for “open air life”.
The cross-country ski trails will be lined with luminaries in the Spirit River Nature Area where you can ski, snowshoe, hike, or pull your little ones in sleds.
After exploring the trails, warm up at the campfires and make s’mores, drink hot cocoa, play outdoor winter games, and sled with your kids down the hills behind the college. Enjoy live music with Drew Peterson on the heated outdoor patio.
Drew Peterson is a seasoned Americana artist with over 20 years of touring experience, known for his clever songwriting, dry humor, and heartfelt performances. Drew has fronted beloved Minnesota acts like Forty Watt Bulb, The Dead Pigeons, and Boxstore Bird. With lyrics that blend wit, warmth, and honesty, Drew’s music bridges the gap between the rowdy and the reflective, always leaving audiences feeling a little more connected.
The campus cafe will be selling soups and other food items. Don't miss this opportunity to make Anoka-Ramsey Community College part of your winter fun.
