    How do I get help from an advisor?

    Answer

    Academic advisors can help you with questions about choosing classes, picking a major, transferring and many other academic issues.  You can visit the Advising Center (located behind the Information Desk on both campuses) any time during our Quick Stop hours for quick questions or call the Information Desk at 763-433-1230 to schedule an appointment.

    How can I set up a campus visit?

    One of the best ways to get a feel for the Anoka-Ramsey Community College experience is to visit the campus. Tours are offered on both campuses and give you a chance to see what the campus looks and feels like as well as you have the opportunity to visit with an admissions advisor.

    The Job Readiness Services can help you with things like job search strategies, resumes and cover letters, and interview preparation.  Job Readiness Services also offers a job posting board.

    Anoka-Ramsey Community College provides a variety of academic support services for students with documented disabilities in accordance with federal legislation. Services include, but are not limited to, accommodation assistance, educational planning, early registration, assistive technology, interpreters, advocacy, referral, and support. These services are designed to assist such individuals to participate fully and successfully in Anoka-Ramsey programs. For further information on all Disability Services call 763-433-1350.     How do I apply to ARCC as a transfer student?

    Answer

    Transfer students should follow the basic steps for admission found here. Depending on what courses you have completed at your previous institution(s), you may or may not need to complete the placement test.  For more information about determining if you need to take the placement test, please visit the Placement Testing page, or contact the Advising Office, either in person on either campus, or by phone at 763-433-1230 (Coon Rapids or Cambridge).   Also, if you are transferring in 12 or more credits, you do not need to attend a Registration Planning Session.  Instead, you are encouraged to schedule a one-on-one appointment with an academic advisor for a transfer evaluation.  To make an appointment, contact the Advising Office, either in person on either campus, or by phone at 763-433-1230 (Coon Rapids or Cambridge).  Be sure to have all of your official transcripts sent to the college a minimum of one week prior to setting up a transfer evaluation appointment.

    What tutoring services are available at ARCC?

    The Academic Support Centers on both campuses offer free tutoring for almost all subjects taught at ARCC.  For more information, please visit the Academic Support Center page. On the Coon Rapids Campus, the Math Skills Center offers free tutoring specifically for students enrolled in Math 0100, 0200, 0210 and 0220.  For more information, please visit the Math Skills Center page.
