Anoka-Ramsey welcomes new Minnesota State chancellor, legislators, community partners
September 07, 2023
Anoka-Ramsey Community College welcomed Minnesota State Chancellor Scott Olson, legislators and community partners to its Coon Rapids campus Aug. 30. The visit showcased the college’s portion of Minnesota State’s 2024 request for legislative funding to complete renovations and modernizations to science labs and classrooms.
The project calls for updates and replacements of key infrastructure elements to, among other goals, improve student and faculty safety and improve learning spaces by making them more flexible and accessible.
“The design of the new science building is grounded in evidence-based best-practice teaching in STEM, specifically inquiry-based experimentation and other student-centered lab pedagogy that is necessary for closing the equity gap for historically underserved students while improving the success of all students,” says STEM Dean of Academic Affairs Rebecca Krystyniak.
