Anoka-Ramsey Community College hosts author Heid E. Erdrich for Careers in Writing Speaker Series

Anoka-Ramsey Community College will host a conversation with author Heid E. Erdrich at a virtual Careers in Writing event on Thursday, Dec. 10 from 12:30 to 1:30 pm.

Heid E. Erdrich has authored seven books of poetry and a non-fiction work on indigenous foods. She has also edited “New Poets of Native Nations” anthology for Graywolf Press. Her honors include a National Poetry Series award and two Minnesota Book Awards. She teaches in Augsburg University’s Low-residency MFA. Heid is Ojibwe and an enrolled member of the Turtle Mountain Nation.

“Our Careers in Writing speaker series helps students learn about the myriad of job opportunities for people with strong writing skills,” said Kathryn Kysar, Anoka-Ramsey English faculty member.

Past guests have included playwright and author David Lawrence Grant, music critic Jon Bream, bookseller David Unowsky, freelance editor Anitra Budd, Graywolf Press editor Steve Woodward, and Minnesota State Arts Board Program Director Sherrie Fernandez-Williams.
