For Cora Richter ’19, attending Anoka-Ramsey Community College was a family affair.

“I had older siblings who attended before me and were able to save a lot of money getting their degrees,” she said. “The school is affordable, conveniently located, welcoming, and has many wonderful professors and faculty that want students to succeed. “

Richter, who completed her associate of science degree in nursing at Anoka-Ramsey in May 2019, said the cost of higher education was on her mind when she made her college choice.

“One challenge that I faced was the financial side of getting an education,” Richter said.  “This was quickly taken care of when I applied for and received scholarships from Anoka-Ramsey.”

Richter said she benefited greatly from the hands-on training she accessed as a nursing student at Anoka-Ramsey.

“The nursing program at Anoka-Ramsey is amazing. The class sizes are small enough that learning is really intimate and attainable,” she said. “There is high-quality teaching coupled with interactive simulations and patient care days. The program has offered me a lot of experiences that I don't know that I would have gotten anywhere else.”
