College will offer NEW summer program to prepare incoming students for college-level courses
April 25, 2017
Thanks to generous donors Beverly and Richard Fink, Anoka-Ramsey Community College will host a Summer Scholars Academy program on the Coon Rapids Campus starting July 10, 2017.
The Summer Scholars Academy is an innovative program to ensure that students are college-ready for the first semester of their freshman year. The program assists incoming freshmen who need developmental courses for them to be fully prepared to successfully handle college-level coursework.
Anoka-Ramsey will offer courses in English, mathematics and reading. Academic advising and support services will also be available to assist students in considering their academic and career goals, and help them map out the best path to achieving them.
Students are required to pay a $75 application, however there are no further costs associated with completing the program. If all program requirements are met, those students will receive support for transportation costs. Students will also receive a $150 stipend after they successfully complete the program.
