Anoka-Ramsey Community College is pleased to host the 3rd Annual Student Outstanding Scholarship, Creative Activities and Research Symposium (OSCARS) Wednesday, April 25, 2 to 4 pm at the Coon Rapids Campus, and Wednesday, May 2, 1 to 3 pm at the Cambridge Campus.

Both events are free and the public is encouraged to attend.

The OSCARS is intended to showcase the high-quality learning that students engage with as a result of undergraduate research, project-based learning and scholarship/creative endeavors specific to their field.

The OSCARS showcases undergraduate research, scholarship and creative activities of Anoka-Ramsey students. Disciplines represented at prior OSCARS include: Art, Biology, Chemistry, Communication Studies, English, Music, Nursing, Philosophy, Physical Therapy Assistant, Political Science, Psychology and Theatre.

“We expect that this year's event to be even larger than last year,” said Kristen Genet, Anoka-Ramsey Biology Faculty member. “We hope community members as well as students who may not be presenting projects will attend to learn more about the amazing things that their peers are working on inside and outside the classroom. We expect to have many different departments represented at the OSCARS.”

At both campuses, attendees of the OSCARS will learn about the undergraduate research that Anoka-Ramsey students are working on.

“If you are not presenting, this a chance to identify courses and faculty that you would like to work with in the future,” said Genet.

"I appreciate the support the college administration has demonstrated for the OSCARS on both campuses, so all of our students can continue to have an opportunity to display their great research and creative work at the college," said Angie Anderson, Anoka-Ramsey Communication Studies faculty.
