Conversation Partners

Conversation Partners is a program that pairs people for weekly cross-cultural conversations.

You will have the option of signing up for online video calls or in-person meetings.

You must be 18 years old or older to participate. Anoka-Ramsey students, faculty, staff and administration are welcome to participate.

Spring 2023 Registration: We are accepting applications until Friday, Jan. 27, 2023.

Steps to Join Conversation Partners

  1. Complete Orientation

Before applying, you must read the Orientation Guide. This provides essential details about the program.

After reading the Orientation Guide, communicate any of your questions or concerns to the program Co-Coordinators, Beata Pueschner or Chris McCarthy.

If you have read through the Orientation Guide and you do not have any questions, please move on to Step 2.

  2. Fill Out the Application

Click on this link for the Conversation Partners Application.

  3. Watch Your Email

Wait patiently for a confirmation email (this may take a week or more to process due to the complicated matching procedure). Once you receive the confirmation email, read the instructions for how to get in contact with your partner.

  4. Start Meeting and Track Your Progress

Meet with your partner over online video calls for approximately one hour of conversation once a week for over eight weeks or more. Keep track of your sessions with your Conversation Partners log. We will email you your handbook with your log after you register.

  5. Submit Your Meeting Log and Survey

At the end of the semester, submit your log with eight or more sessions recorded and fill out a survey that will be emailed to you about your experience. You will then receive a completion certificate in your email.
