If you are a student who has completed 1 or more semesters of college at another college or university, you qualify to complete our transfer student orientation.

Below is a pre-orientation checklist, how to request your online orientation, steps after completing online orientation to register for classes.

Pre-Orientation Entrance Steps

  • Know Your StarID and Password.
    • Still need to learn this information? Click here.To request that your transcript be pulled from another Minnesota State College: Click here and select the "Minnesota State Transcript Retrieval eform" link.
  • Send all official transcripts of prior college coursework or AP/IB scores to Anoka-Ramsey.
    • For all non-Minnesota State College System schools, have an official transcript sent to Anoka-Ramsey's Records Office for evaluation. Refer to Step 2 in the Transfer Student Admissions Steps for specific mailing instructions.
    • To request that your transcript be pulled from another Minnesota State College: Click here and select the "Minnesota State Transcript Retrieval eform" link.
  • If necessary, complete the Accuplacer or send in qualifying ACT, SAT, or MCA results.
  • Log into your Anoka-Ramsey Email Account and find your actual Email Address.
    • Hover over the "Current Students" tab at the top of Anoka-Ramsey's homepage with your mouse, and select the "Email" option in the drop-down menu that appears.
    • Your email username will be your starID, followed by
    • Your password will be the same as your starID password.
    • To find your actual outward-facing Anoka-Ramsey email address, click here and follow the steps.
  • Learn about Star Alert.
    • Star Alert allows you to receive college closing or emergency communications to your email or phone. You are automatically enrolled in Star Alert as a registered student. Click here to learn more about the service and change any preferences you have regarding your account.

Request Your Online Orientation

Complete and submit the Fall 2020 Online Transfer Orientation RequestWithin 3 business days:

  • You will receive access and instructions to your online orientation via email if all pre-orientation entrance steps have been completed. 
  • If some of your pre-orientation entrance steps are incomplete, an orientation team member will contact you and advise you on how to complete these steps.
  • Our online orientation provides you with the following:

    • Overview of the college and support resources
    • Overview of the college’s degree programs
    • Important dates and deadlines to know
    • Necessary Academic Policies of the college to know and follow
    • Tutorials on technology set-up and how to register for classes
  • After completing online orientation and sending in your transcripts for evaluation, you can meet with your assigned academic advisor who can help with:

    • A review of all evaluated credits that have been received by Anoka-Ramsey
    • Course recommendations for your first semester at Anoka-Ramsey
    • Answers to additional questions you have about the orientation content you viewed
    • A list of next steps to consider and complete after your registration
