Guillermo Cuellar was born in Venezuela in 1951. He studied ceramics at Cornell College, Mt. Vernon, IA, graduating in 1976. In 1981 he worked as assistant to Warren MacKenzie, with whom he shared workshop experience from 1984 to 2006.
Cuellar’s work has been on display in the Venezuelan National Art Gallery, The Smithsonian Institution, Northern Clay Center in Minnesota and other museums and galleries around the world.
In 2005 Cuellar moved to the upper St. Croix River Valley, and in 2009 was invited to be a host on the Minnesota Potters of the Upper St. Croix Valley Annual Pottery Tour.
