Three Anoka-Ramsey Community College volleyball players were recently awarded post-season honors.
• Freshman, middle-hitter, Jordan Noska was named First-Team All-American and All-Region XIII-A by the NJCAA (National Junior College Athletic Association). Noska was also awarded First-Team All-MCCC (Minnesota Community College Conference), First-Team All-MCCC Southern Division and chosen for the All-MCCC Tournament Team. Noska finished the season first in the MCCC Southern Division and eighth in the country in kills at 3.57 kills per game. She was also fourth in the MCCC Southern Division and 10th in the nation in blocks at .96 blocks per game. This is the second year in a row that an Anoka-Ramsey middle hitter has received All-American honors.
• Freshman setter, MacKenzie Gangestad was named All-Region XIII-A by the NJCAA, First-Team All MCCC and First-Team All-MCCC Southern Division. Gangestad served as a captain for the Golden Rams and led the MCCC Southern Division in assists with 10.9 assists per game. Gangestad holds the record at Anoka-Ramsey for the most assists in a single season with 1,085. She is expected to add to that total in 2008.
• Sophomore, outside hitter, Audra Stevenson was named Second-Team All-MCCC Southern Division. The lone sophomore starter, Stevenson served as captain along with Gangestad. She finished fourth in the MCCC Southern Division in kills at 3.1 kills per game and sixth in digs at 4.1 dig per game.
Noska and Gangestad will return to Anoka-Ramsey Community College next season along with teammates Jakki Lindberg, Krystal Hammarstedt and Brittany Hoyles. |
