After defeating Hibbing on Friday Nov. 30, 2007 by a score of 58-45, the Golden Rams returned to the gym on Saturday Dec. 1, 2007 to take on the high scoring Rainy River Voyageurs who were averaging 72 points per game.
After tying the game at 23-23 on a jump shot by Aramondo Davison, the teams leading scorer (16.5 ppg), the Voyageurs went on a 13-2 run to brint the score to 38-25 with less than three minutes to go in the first half. After an influential halftime talk by Head Coach Bill McKee, the Golden Rams were determined to take back control of the game.
“We took advantage of being at the free-throw line during the second half and gained momentum by scoring when we had the opportunity,” said assistant coach Ben Seevers.
They fought back and defeated Rainy River 79-73.
With their two-game sweep over the weekend, the Golden Rams improved to an overall record of 7-1. They travel to Bethel University to take on the Royals Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2007 at 7:30pm.
