Credit for Prior Learning

Completing your degree may be closer than you think.

Credit for Prior Learning (CPL) offers students several ways to earn college credit for knowledge, skills, and abilities that have been attained before enrolling in college.  Requirements may be fulfilled in two ways:

  • The awarding of college credit towards a degree
  • The waiving of prerequisites without credit

Credit is granted for documented learning obtained from rigorous study or experience. It is not granted simply for experience itself. Credits earned through Credit for Prior Learning are not considered residence credits and may not be used to fulfill Anoka-Ramsey's 20-credit residency requirement.
