Sound environmental practices in accordance with EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) and the MPCA (Minnesota Pollution Prevention Agency) requirements, are emphasized on both campuses and administered by the Anoka-Ramsey Community College Safety and Security Office. In August of 2006, ARCC submitted a SWPPP (Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan) to the MPCA for the Coon Rapids Campus only, in compliance with the MS4 (Small Municipal Separate Storm Water Sewer Systems) and our NPDES (National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System) General Storm Water Permit. The Coon Rapids Campus is required to obtain an MS4 permit because it maintains a storm water system and it is located near the Mississippi River, considered to be navigable waters. Required inspections and other mandatory compliance efforts are conducted on the Coon Rapids Campus by our contracted consultant Wenck Associates, Inc. Copies of the SWPPP, the NPDES permit, inspection results and other compliance results are below.
