Our counselors are professionally trained and certified to provide you with support and guidance in the areas of academics, career planning and personal concerns that may affect your academic success.
Counselors are able to provide you with short-term support for a variety of concerns including: Abuse, anxiety, assertiveness, chemical abuse, depression, eating disorders, grief, relationship issues, self-esteem, sexual orientation, stress management, time management, life transitions and wellness.
Our counselors are also prepared to offer recommendations and referrals for mental health support services, should you desire on-going care.
Our counselors are available to provide one-to-one support and guidance regarding your career development. We can help you to understand your personal career planning process through inventories, discussion, and intentional planning.
Counselors are also available to assist you as you determine which major or program is right for you.
Counselors are trained to provide guidance and support to students with academic concerns or who have been placed on academic probation or suspension.
All information you share with a counselor is kept confidential. In other words, the conversations you have with your counselor will be kept private with student services staff.
Exceptions to this policy are:
If you voice a desire to hurt yourself or someone else.
If your counseling records are court ordered by a government official (i.e. a judge)
If you report abuse or neglect of a minor (individual under the age of 18 years old) or a vulnerable adult.
