Problems usually occur when the grades are entered before entering the last dates of attendance.

    • Report Your Grades:
      • Check above for general login instructions
      • Click on Grade Entry List located on the left side of the screen
      • Click on Enter Grades for the selected class
      • Registered students for the selected course will display on the Grade Date Entry Roster Web page
      • Only 40 students are displayed at a time - If more than 40 students are registered for the class, process the first 40 using the instructions below and continue entering grades for the next display of students
      • If a grade already exists for a student (a grade of W, for instances), the students’ name will not appear on the roster
      • Enter grades using the grading options defined above and click on the Process Grades button, which will then display the Confirm Your Request and Verify PIN windows

      • Logout and close the website to ensure data privacy

    • Grading Options:
      • Grading options include A, B, C, D, F, P, NC or I
      • To report inadequate achievement, F grades may only be assigned to courses numbered 1000 or above; NC grades may only be assigned to courses numbered below 1000. If you inadvertently assign an F to a developmental course, the grade will revert to an NC.
      • An I requires that an “Agreement of Incomplete Grade” form be submitted to the Records Office (without the required Agreement of Incomplete Grade, an F or NC will be recorded in place of the I). This form must be signed by both the instructor and the student.
      • Plus or minus grades are not recognized at ARCC and may not be assigned
      • Letter grades of AU and W are initiated by the student and may not be reported by the instructor.

        Questions? Contact Janine Forrer.

  1. NISOD and Great Teacher Seminar awards
Kim Lynch is Anoka Ramsey Community College's nominee for the National Institute for Staff and Organizational Development (NISOD) Excellence Award. She will be recognized at NISOD's twenty-eighth annual International Conference on Teaching and Leadership Excellence to be held May 28 - May 31, 2006, at the Austin Convention Center, Austin, TX.

NISOD is a worldwide consortium dedicated to the professional development of faculty, administrators and staff. The ultimate goal of the organization is to promote student success through the continued improvement of teaching and learning. More than 600 community colleges around the world are members of NISOD.

The NISOD Excellence Award recognizes outstanding faculty. Kim demonstrates excellence in her teaching, her mentoring of faculty as an ALA, and her involvement with and mentoring of faculty using D2L as a teaching/learning platform. She also demonstrates her understanding of the depth and breadth of teaching and learning through her work on the Academic Master Plan. She supports ARCC as the co-chair of the HLC steering Committee and as synthesizer/author of the self-study document, as well as through her many committee memberships.

Brad Wold has been selected as the Anoka Ramsey Community College nominee for the Great Teacher Seminar. The Great Teacher Seminar became a new opportunity for ARCC faculty last year. The Seminar provides an occasion for gathering with other faculty to participate in creative discussions about teaching and learning, challenges facing teachers in community colleges, and professional growth. This year's conference is held June 18 - 22, 2006 near Portland, OR.

Brad Wold is an energetic and knowledgeable instructor who consistently finds ways to bring information to life for his students. In teaching Environmental Science he maximizes the natural resources of the campus as well as other local sites. He is tireless in lobbying for conservation of the natural prairie on the Cambridge campus, resulting in a multi-acre site dedicated to learning. This benefits the science students as well as art students as they look for natural subjects to draw, English students who may be inspired by natural surroundings, and community members in the area. Brad Wold is also an active member of the community and has provided outreach to many members of our community through involvement on committees, coordination of the annual campus science night, and various inter-departmental projects.

Heartfelt congratulations to these two outstanding faculty members!!

  2. Coon Rapids commencement ceremony
The date/time for the Coon Rapids ceremony is Friday, May 12, 2006 at 7 PM. The students would be thrilled to have our faculty and administration participate in this ceremony and I urge you to celebrate with our newest alumni!

  5. Admissions Advisors attending MnACC fairs!
One of the Admissions recruitment goals for fall 2006 is to increase students of color enrollments. To address that goal, the ARCC admissions staff joined MnACC (Minnesota Association of Counselors of color). MnACC was established in 1991, and is a noncompetitive post-secondary collaborative dedicated to improving access to higher education for Minnesota's students of color. Current membership of MnACC includes 44 institutional partners from the upper Midwest region.

The spring MnACC fairs are hosted at the following Minneapolis and St. Paul High Schools: North Community High School, Arlington High School, Como Park High School, Patrick Henry High School, Highland Park High School, and Harding High School. In the past, Anoka-Ramsey Community College has not recruited at these high schools. Questions? Contact Matt Crawford.

  6. Minnesota Online Institutional Change Request
To prepare for the Minnesota Online peer review process (for full institutional accreditation to deliver online programs), the college must submit a request for institutional change answering six basic questions:
    1. What is the change being proposed?
    2. What factors led the organization to undertake the proposed change?
    3. What necessary approvals have been obtained to implement the proposed change?
    4. What impact might the proposed change have on challenges identified by the Commission as part of or subsequent to the last comprehensive [accreditation] visit?
    5. What are the organization’s plans to implement and sustain the proposed change?
    6. What are the organization’s strategies to evaluate the proposed change?
Responding to these six questions (and several subparts) involves the collection and analysis of a great deal of information about the college and the expertise of many individuals. The current institutional change request will be delivered to Minnesota Online and the peer review team entirely online and the evidence will be available only in a virtual resource room. The college’s institutional e-folio (http://www.arccportfolio.project.mnscu.edu/) is the host site for this change request and the virtual resource room. Questions? Contact Cynthia Weishapple.

  2. Academic alert - second round
Due to Lois Bjerke (CR) and Crystal Nelson (CC) by Monday, March 6, 4:30 pm. All faculty are invited and encouraged to participate in the Academic Alert Program and early intervention support system designed to enhance student success and retention. The program identifies students who are performing less than "C" level work and/or who have excessive absences. An alert letter is sent out notifying them that they are at risk of failing and strongly encouraging them to seek more support from faculty, tutoring, counseling, mentoring and other services. Disregard if you have already participated in the Alert Program during the first round.
    • Process:
      1. Copy your 10th day class list from the web. Highlight the students who should receive the letter. Send a hard copy to Lois or Crystal.
      2. Include your name; the class discipline, course number and section number; and the student’s name and student ID number.
      3. Send the list to Lois or Crystal by Monday, March 6, 4:30 pm.
