You’re invited! College choir seeks community singers to perform in spring chorale concerts
January 09, 2018
Anoka-Ramsey Community College’s Chorale, now entering its eighth season, is open to all community members, alumni, high-school singers, and it is free of charge. No audition is necessary, previous choral experience helpful but not required.
This year, rehearsals are Tuesdays, 6:30 to 8 pm at the Coon Rapids Campus, beginning Jan. 16, and culminate in two concerts, one at Faith Lutheran on Thursday, March 1 and one at the Anoka-Ramsey Coon Rapids Campus Performing Arts Center on Monday, April 30. Both at 7 pm.
This is the third choral ensemble at the Coon Rapids Campus, and the 10th performing group. Jazz band, guitar ensemble, string orchestra, concert band, world drumming ensemble, chamber ensembles and musical theatre ensemble are also offered.
“Singing together in community is not only fun and energizing, it also has proven physiological and psychological benefits for the singers involved” ” said Music Faculty member Melissa Bergstrom. “Even if you don't want to commit yet to the whole season and just want to come to our first rehearsal and give it a chance, you are welcome to join us in the Music Building, Room 109."
