Tarnowski accepts Vice President of Educational Services position at Anoka-Ramsey Community College

Anoka-Ramsey Community College welcomes Dr. Susan Tarnowski as Vice President of Educational Services for its two campuses in Cambridge, Minn. and Coon Rapids, Minn. Tarnowski will serve as Chief Academic and Student Affairs Officer and provide leadership and management to facilitate a center of excellence in teaching and learning.

“We have been searching for an experienced administrator with a broad background in academic affairs, student services and continuing education,” says ARCC President, Dr. Patrick M. Johns. “Susan (Tarnowski) has the ability to motivate faculty and staff and has a positive track record of creating innovative strategies to advance the institution. Her experience shows that she has what it takes! As Vice President of Educational Services, she will guide academic policy, educational planning, program management, new program development, and professional growth of faculty and related staff.

“We are enthusiastic about having Susan onboard. She will also bring a four-year college and university background to help us with our new strategy in developing a higher education ‘portal’ for our communities."

Tarnowski has held administrative and faculty positions in higher education for more than 26 years. Her most recent position was Vice President of Academic Affairs and Dean of Faculty at The College of St. Scholastica in Duluth, Minn. Tarnowski also held administrative and faculty positions at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire and Mayville State University, North Dakota. Prior to entering a career in higher education, Tarnowski taught Music in the Barnum, Minn. school district as well as the public school system in Australia.

Tarnowski earned her Ph.D. and Master’s degrees in Music Education from the University of Minnesota, and her Bachelor of Science degree in Music Education from the University of Minnesota-Duluth.
