East Central Energy (www.eastcentralenergy.com)
revealed its commitment to the community
and to higher education through donations
to Anoka-Ramsey Community College’s
Cambridge Campus Foundation and the College’s
Kid U/College for Kids program.
East Central Energy provided two scholarships
of $2,500 each to Anoka-Ramsey Community
College’s Cambridge Campus Foundation.
These scholarships will be awarded to
students that plan to attend the Cambridge
Campus.
Another donation of $2,000 was made to
Anoka-Ramsey Community College’s
Kid U/College for Kids program. The monies
for this donation were raised from East
Central Energy’s Operation Round
Up® program.
Kid U/College for Kids provides children
with learning opportunities that ignite
their imagination, expand their knowledge
and make learning fun. This innovative
program takes place in August at the Cambridge
Campus of Anoka-Ramsey Community College
and includes hands-on learning in subjects
such as performing and culinary arts,
languages, Web page design, and more.
In addition to great learning opportunities,
College for Kids presents students from
East Central Minnesota with a positive
college experience in hopes of increasing
post-secondary enrollment.
Operation Round Up is an initiative from
East Central Energy where customers are
given the option of rounding up their
monthly energy bills to the next whole
dollar and contributing the rounded up
amount—from 1 cent to 99 cents—to
the community. Since 1998, East Central
Energy customers have contributed $444,000
back to their communities through Operation
Round Up.
