Cambridge, Minn. - No
one sunk a hole-in-one nor set a course
record, but the Annual Golf Fundraiser
sponsored by the Cambridge Community
College Foundation of Anoka-Ramsey Community
College brought success of another kind.
Organizers of the May 15 event raised
more than $4,000 toward student scholarships.
The Saturday afternoon tournament, held
at the Deer Meadows Golf Course in Cambridge,
attracted just six teams of four players.
More funds were collected, however, thanks
to generous community businesses and
individuals sending in checks without
registering a team for the tournament.

The winning team for
the Annual Golf Fundraiser sponsored
by Anoka-Ramsey
Community College’s Cambridge Community
College Foundation, included Bill Weinreich,
Ken Runberg, Rick Runberg and Jim Schmitz. |
The winning
team, comprised of Jim Schmitz, Ken Runberg,
Rick Runberg and Bill Weinreich,
even donated their $300 first-place prize
to the cause. In addition, a “Hoop
It Up” competition that required
golfers to land the ball inside a hula
hoop target, brought no winners, thereby
allowing the $500 prize pot to be added
to the scholarship fund.
