Celebrating
10 years of summer program
Gearing up for summer at Anoka-Ramsey
Community College means preparing for
messy adventures, shocking electrical
sciences, journeys to the solar system,
and most importantly, more than 1,500
kids and teens on its Cambridge and Coon
Rapids Campuses. Summer at Anoka-Ramsey
Community College means Kid U/College
for Kids - a program in its 10th year
that invites kids and teens to come to
college and stretch their creative imaginations.
As part of Anoka-Ramsey Community College's
mission to provide lifelong learning
opportunities, Kid U/College for Kids
was developed in 1995 at the Coon Rapids
Campus and expanded to the Cambridge
Campus in 2000 as a part of Anoka-Ramsey’s
Continuing Education and Customized Training
Division.
"Since inception, the Program has
been extremely successful and grows every
year," says LeAnn Snidarich, Program
Director. "The very first year included
only 358 registrations and this year
we expect more than 2,000."
Kid U/College for Kids is designed to
provide preschool, elementary, middle
and high school students with opportunities
for learning success in a college environment.
The courses and programs ignite the students’ imagination,
expand their knowledge and make learning
fun. The students experience innovative
hands-on learning in subjects not ordinarily
taught in traditional school curriculum.
Students commute from all over the Twin
Cities and surrounding areas.
