Students and Faculty Delight in Anoka-Ramsey Community College's Spring Activities May 20, 2003

Students, faculty and staff from Anoka-Ramsey Community College's Coon Rapids Campus celebrated the end of the semester by participating in a variety of fun events.

A spring picnic featured an array of booths highlighting Anoka-Ramsey Community College clubs and organizations including Anoka-Ramsey Christian Fellowship, College Republicans, Creative Writing Club, Engineering and Physics Club, GLBT Unity, Multicultural and International Club, Phi Theta Kappa, Psychology Club, Psi Beta, Student Senate, Intramurals/Dance Team, Choir, Salmagundi, Athletics, TRIO, and the Academic Support Center were the contributing clubs and organizations present. In addition, a "Battle of the Bands" contest entertained the crowd during lunch. The "The Erik Jostad Band" won first place, the ARCC Choir won second, and the band "Five Small Worlds" won third.

Students sat along the river bank and relished the food, music and warm weather during Anoka-Ramsey Community College's Spring Picnic, May 15.

Joyce Traczyk, student activities director, contributed took a crack at the ball arm for the faculty team during the student/faculty softball game, May 7, organized by biology faculty member, Joan McKearnan. The faculty tried their best but the students prevailed. According to McKearnan, the game is a great community building event. One student claimed that the game was a chance for the students to pound on the faculty, for once!

Students and staff creating mobiles

More than 50 students, staff and faculty members used buckthorn branches and tissue paper to create the festive array of mobiles during the first annual mobile madness event. Mobiles were hung near the river plaza for campus visitors to enjoy.
