“Fools” is a Neil Simon play that takes place in the fictitious Ukrainian village of Kulyenchikov, which has been under the curse of chronic stupidity for more than two hundred years. The village’s doctor lures an idealistic schoolteacher named Leon Tolchinsky to the village to educate his daughter and save the village from its curse. Leon promptly falls madly in love with the doctor’s daughter. If Leon fails to break the curse within a “25-hour” day, he will fall victim himself, losing his own intelligence and the girl he loves.

“It’s just a really fun show,” says Jacob Swanson, who plays Count Gregor in the production. “The humor is classic.”

Critics have called this a vintage Simon play, filled with one-liners and gags.

Tickets are $8 for the public and $6 for senior citizens, and available at the Cambridge Campus bookstore.
