Brandon Caviness in the role of Cervantes/Don Quixote

Anoka-Ramsey Community College student Brandon Caviness in the role of Cervantes/Don Quixote rehearses for the college’s production of “Man of La Mancha,” set for Feb. 8, 9, 14, 15 and 16, 7:30 p.m., in the Coon Rapids Campus Performing Arts Center. Tickets are $8 for the general public and are available at the college’s bookstore during normal business hours or at the Performing Arts Center box office 30 minutes before each performance.

“Man of La Mancha,” written by Dale Wasserman, is a stirring musical based in the Miquel Cervantes masterpiece, “Don Quixote.” The production, with music by Mitch Leigh and lyrics by Joe Darion, revisits the story of a frail, delusional old man who, convinced he is a knight, undertakes a quest to bring some measure of grace to the world.

Attendees (recommended for ages 12 and up) are sure to be inspired by the old man’s impossible dream as he makes an honorable and virtuous stand against cynicism and despair.

Tickets are $8 for the general public and are available at the college’s bookstore during normal business hours or at the Performing Arts Center box office 30 minutes before each performance. For more information, call 763.433.1250.
