| The two Anoka-Ramsey Community College foundations recently received the first half of a $100,000 Organizational Effectiveness grant from the Otto Bremer Foundation. The foundations will receive the second half of the grant, another $50,000, in December 2008.
According to the colleges Director of Institutional Advancement, Evelyn Gedde, the grant will help increase the foundations capacity for successful financial development and relationship building. Specifically, the grant is targeted to assist with:
- leadership and fundraising education for the colleges foundation board members at both campuses;
- the purchase of and staff training in new constituent management software;
- the Legacy Dinner, a new donor recognition and appreciation event;
- and the establishment of a financial development position to serve both campus foundations.
This grant enhances our ability to equip our boards with the tools they seek to build relationships with current and prospective donors, plus gives staff new tools to manage constituent information, says Gedde. End results will include increased data integrity, increased database management efficiencies, an increased number of participants in the foundations activities, and more opportunities for community outreach.
The Otto Bremer Foundations mission is to assist people in achieving full economic, civic and social participation in and for the betterment of their communities. This mission echoes Anoka-Ramseys mission to respond to the educational needs of its changing communities and to provide opportunities for enhancing knowledge, skills, and values.
The Organizational Effectiveness grant received by Anoka-Ramsey was specifically established to assist nonprofits in improving how they do their work to best achieve the organizations mission and positively influence the lives of those it seeks to improve.
"We are honored to receive this grant as a demonstration of the Bremer Foundation's interest in both collaborating with our foundations and contributing to the health and economy of our communities," adds Anoka-Ramsey Community College President, Dr. Patrick M. Johns.
