Anoka-Ramsey Community College is opening its ceramics studio (shown) for two ceramics workshops, Tuesday, Oct. 23, 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Wednesday, Nov. 7, 3 to 9 p.m. Both events are open to students and the general public. |
Dick Cooter will be presenting on a treadle wheel, Tuesday, Oct. 23, 9:30 am to 4 p.m., room F212.
Cooter is a well-known Minnesota potter with a studio located five miles northeast of Two Harbors, Minn.
"I follow the tradition in which making a pot is a collaboration among clay, fire, potter and user,” says Cooter. “The potter seeks the tension among them so that each element has its place, and none dominates for too long."
Jason Trebs will be presenting Wednesday, Nov. 7, 3 to 9 p.m., room F212.
Trebs, a graduate of Bemidji State University, has been showing his functional, yet beautiful ceramic creations throughout the Midwest in numerous galleries and shows, including the annual Uptown Art Fair.
Anoka-Ramsey offers both classes and an associate of fine arts degree in visual arts, music and theatre. For more information about college programs, visit www.AnokaRamsey.edu. For more information about the ceramics workshops, contact college faculty member, Mark Lambert at 763.433.1307.
