Graduates Realize Dreams at 40th Commencement Ceremony

You began your journey at Anoka-Ramsey on a quest for a better future; you leave Anoka-Ramsey, as alumni, one step closer to realizing that future.”

Anoka-Ramsey Community College (ARCC) celebrated the achievements of more than 750 students who earned their associate’s degree from its Cambridge and Coon Rapids Campuses, May 18.

Several speakers congratulated and encouraged graduates to continue their educational journey including two representatives from the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities System Office: Scott Thiss, Trustee; and Dr. Michael Murphy, Associate Vice Chancellor. The Cambridge Campus ceremony featured two student speakers, Emily Clemente and Davidson Blanchard, and an outstanding alumna and current Cambridge City Council Member, Susan Boettcher Morris. The Coon Rapids Campus ceremony featured a keynote address by Darby Nelson, retired ARCC faculty member and current author.

“Attending this Community College is something to embrace,” said Blanchard. “Faculty are driven by their passion of educating students. Through education, they are actually shaping tomorrow. I will miss this place where the Dean knows so many students by their first names.”
