Be the Bridge Celebration Draws Long Line

The Be the Bridge celebration May 8, which kicked-off the move to the new 34,000 square foot addition to the Cambridge Campus of Anoka-Ramsey Community College, was a rousing success. More than 200 students and employees, donning yellow Be the Bridge T-shirts, formed a human bridge and passed large, artistic items that symbolized a college department or program from the Instructional Services Building (west side of campus) to the new building (east side of campus).

"Be the Bridge was an incredible opportunity for our students, staff, faculty and retirees to come together to celebrate the achievement these new campus buildings represent," comments ARCC Dean of the Cambridge Campus, Deidra Peaslee. "Without all of our community members, this would never have been possible."

The passing of the items took about a half-an-hour. Then the crowd moved in for food and refreshments as part of the annual Spring Picnic. Tours of the new addition were conducted before students rushed back to their classes and staff hurried back to work duties.

Good work, Cambridge Campus!
