Krause was selected from nearly 500 Phi Theta Kappa chapters representing more than over 1.5 million members from around the world.

“This recognition made me step back and look at the impact I have made,” says Krause of the award. “I realize that it is okay to be proud of what I have done. However, it was not only my efforts that earned me this award; the support of my chapter, especially the advisor and officers, made me strive to excel.”

The Distinguished Member Award is part of the society’s Hallmark Awards Program, a capstone awards competition that recognizes excellence in programs that promote the Phi Theta Kappa four hallmarks: scholarship, leadership, service and fellowship. Exceptional members, officers, advisors, college administrators and chapters are recognized annually at the Phi Theta Kappa International Convention.
