“The opening event April 19 will give these serious, young artists an opportunity to claim their artistic authority and communicate the meaning of their work,” notes ARCC art faculty member, Margaret Bussey.
Bussey went on to add that the students will continue their arts education at prestigious institutions, such as the Chicago Art Institute and Minneapolis College of Art and Design.
To describe the people, nature, architecture and relationships evident in their collective showing, the student-artists invented the term “Hu*marc*i*na*ture” to title the exhibit.
The public and people considering the study of art at ARCC are encouraged to attend this opportunity to see and even purchase the strong work produced in the ARCC Fine Arts Department. People wishing to support local arts should also watch for information on the program-wide Student Art Sale being held May 2-3 at the Coon Rapids Campus.
