Shevy Smith The public is invited to a free concert by contemporary singer/songwriter Shevy Smith appearing at the Anoka-Ramsey Community College Cambridge Campus, Wednesday, April 25, 6:30 p.m.

Influenced by popular, contemporary performers, such as Tom Petty, Jackson Browne and Sheryl Crow, Smith grew up on a farm in central Kansas and began her ventures into music with a classical piano at age four.

"I guess growing up surrounded by miles of open spaces tends to make you rely on your imagination for entertainment,” Smith says.

Critics have said, Smith writes from a unique perspective while maintaining the universal truth elements that make music pertinent to a variety of listeners. Her vulnerable and imagery-filled lyrics connect with listeners on a level that runs deep in today’s touch-and-go world. Most importantly, Smith’s greatest passion lies in performing live. She is not only a songwriter but an outstanding performer who undoubtedly thrives on the opportunity to interact with an audience.
