Explore Educational Options at Anoka-Ramsey Community College Open Houses March 8

High school seniors, returning college students and adults looking to start and stay competitive in the employment game, mark your calendars now. Anoka-Ramsey Community College (ARCC) is hosting two open houses Thursday, March 8: Cambridge Campus Lower Level Food Court, 6-7:30 p.m. and Coon Rapids Campus Cafeteria, 6-8 p.m.

These open houses will be packed with information about degree and program options that can launch or redirect a career into fast-growing job markets. There will also be campus tours, including a tour of the new 34,000-square-foot addition to the Cambridge Campus, meetings with admissions and financial aid representatives and visits with faculty members and student and campus activity groups. No advance reservations are needed.

Prospective Students attend Open House at ARCC
Collectively, 200-300 potential college students attend the Open House events on the Cambridge Campus and Coon Rapids Campus each year. In the past, the most popular tables have been financial aid, scholarship, admissions, counseling and the nursing, physical therapy assistant and business programs.

For those seeking to build a career foundation, ARCC offers two-year arts, fine arts, music and science degree programs that allow for easy transfer to four-year programs. There are also many one- and two-year programs:

  • accounting
  • administrative management business
  • biomedical technology
  • computer networking and telecommunications
  • computer programming
  • environmental science
  • geographic information systems
  • integrative health and healing
  • nursing
  • physical therapist assistant
  • pre-engineering

For those looking to enhance their careers, ARCC offers on- and off-site continuing education and customized training programs for working professionals and organizations seeking staff development.

"The best part about this event is the opportunity it affords potential students to visit directly with program instructors from each academic department and get their questions answered,” says ARCC Admissions Advisor, Sally Schwartz.
