Anoka-Ramsey Community College (ARCC) Cambridge Campus welcomed approximately 35 public safety officials Monday, Jan. 8, 2006. The goal was to allow ARCC staff to share information about the campus and provide a tour of the new 34,000 sq. ft. campus addition to the officers that may respond in case of an emergency. Anoka-Ramsey Community College Vice-President, Michael Seymour; ARCC Safety and Security Director, Orrin Nyhus; and Steve Knight from Knight Inspection Services hosted the event, provided a campus update and answered questions.

Anoka-Ramsey Community College (ARCC) Cambridge Campus Safety and Security personnel welcomed approximately 35 public safety officials Jan. 10 to discuss campus safety and security and tour the new 34,000 sq. ft. campus addition. The addition is set to open Fall 2007.

“We wanted to provide an opportunity for Anoka-Ramsey staff to meet the new leadership of the City of Cambridge Fire and Police Departments and to allow emergency response personnel to familiarize themselves with the grounds and facilities,” says Nyhus.

Cambridge Fire Chief, Don Ziebarth; Assistant Chief, Joe Morley; and Training Coordinator, Don Duong and members of the fire department as well as Cambridge Police Sergeant, Todd Schuster; Detective, Vern Johnson; and regular and reserve police officers attended the event.

“Chief Ziebarth commented that the event was very helpful and informative,” Nyhus reports. “As the group dispersed, we received lots of hand shakes and thanks. I think the event was beneficial for all of us.”
