Local Businesses Donate Raffle, Auction Items for College Scholarships

While goodwill is guaranteed to flow at the Anoka-Ramsey Community College (ARCC) Cambridge Campus Foundation’s annual Scholardazzle Friday, Jan. 19, 6 p.m. as a result of the delicious food catered by Spectacular Events and the interactive magic performance by Kristoffer Olson, there are folks who prefer a take-home treat. And the items arriving for the event’s raffle and silent and lives auctions are sure to please most attendees.
Items donated by area businesses and individuals for the Scholardazzle raffle Items donated by area businesses and individuals for the Scholardazzle raffle and both the live and silent auctions range from free meals, services and tickets to books, crafts and art pieces worth up to $500.

Art-lovers will be ‘blown’ away by the latest glass vase donated by ARCC’s own faculty member and nationally-known glassblowing artist Bob Toensing.

Sports-enthusiasts could score a voucher for four Saints tickets, a Vikings license-plate cover signed by Kevin Williams, a jumbo gift bag courtesy of The Wild or a gift certificate from Wintergreens Golf, which features four state-of-the-art golf swing simulators as well as a bar and grill.

More of a chef? Watkins put together a gift basket of spices and oils to suit any kitchen, while Star Quality Glass donated a gift certificate for use on any of their exquisite glass items in their their Cambridge retail store.

For those looking to get out of the kitchen, Applebee's, Cafe Caffeine and Culver's have all provided just the certificate for delicious food. And people who like to perform their prep work in the backyard will find gift certificates from Wolcyn Tree Farms and Nursery and East Central Sanitation and Recycling, both of Cambridge.

People looking to look good may appreciate the gift certificates donated by Barbers on Main in downtown Cambridge and Spa and Salon in Isanti.

Even the most practical attendees may find what they need by winning or bidding on a gift certificate from Cambridge Launderers & Cleaners.

As an added bonus, everyone who attends the Scholardazzle event will get a sneak preview of the new 34,000 sq. ft. Cambridge Campus addition scheduled for occupancy in Fall 2007.

So, don’t miss out on the merriment, the chance to break last year’s record of $8,300 raised for student scholarships and, perhaps, the opportunity to take home a little something for yourself.
