Anoka-Ramsey Community College Students Clean Up On Campus

Anoka-Ramsey Community College (ARCC) students from a Wellness for Life-Fitness Walking class dedicated an entire period to picking up trash on the campus recently. The result was 18 bags of trash.
Students Clean-Up Campus Wellness for Life-Fitness Walking students dedicate October 25 class period to trash clean up on campus.

The group, organized by Phi Theta Kappa President Amanda Even to meet requirements for both the Honor Society and the class, divided the trash into four categories: cigarette butts, aluminum cans, other recyclables, and non-recyclable garbage. “Most of it [the trash] was recyclable,” Even says.

“What really meant a lot to me was realizing how much the students care about the community and the campus," Even continues. "One can’t survive without the other.”

ARCC offers a variety of classes that focus on the knowledge and skills necessary for the development and enhancement of a healthy lifestyle throughout the life span. For information on all the courses offered, call 763.433.1100 or visit www.anokaramsey.edu.

Phi Theta Kappa is the International Honor Society of Two-Year Colleges, which provides members with leadership, fellowship, scholarship and service opportunities.
