“I sincerely congratulate the
entire college and its surrounding communities
on another 10 years of accreditation,” says
Dr. Patrick Johns, President of ARCC. “This
successful endeavor is due to the incredible
effort made by college employees, students
and community members who assisted with
the process.
“We look forward to continuing
to offering excellence in teaching and
learning. Anoka-Ramsey Community College
is committed to responding to the educational
needs of its changing communities and
to providing opportunities for enhancing
knowledge, skills, and values in a supportive
learning environment.”
Why is Accreditation Important
Accreditation is critical for Anoka-Ramsey
Community College to maintain its status
as an institution that delivers educational
programs with the highest level of
integrity.
Accreditation is a widely accepted indicator
that an institution has reaffirmed its
mission, vision, and strategic goals;
evaluated the quality, integrity, and
value of college services in relation
to the success of its students; and examined
its efforts towards planning, evaluation
and continuous improvement. Accreditation
ensures students that their credits will
transfer to other accredited colleges
and universities and that financial aid
and veteran’s services can be obtained.
It also allows the College to participate
in projects funded by federal grants.
As part of its request for continued
accreditation, ARCC conducted a two-year
critical self-analysis that offers evidence
to support that the college’s assertion
that it successfully meets the criteria
set by the HLC for continued accreditation.

process at www.AnokaRamsey.edu/accreditation.
The Higher Learning Commission of the
North Central Association of Colleges
and Schools first granted accreditation
status to ARCC in 1974. That status continued
after comprehensive site visits in 1986-87
and 1996. The continuing accreditation
status occurs on a ten-year review cycle.
