College Golf Event to Fund Student Scholarships

An afternoon of golf, an evening barbecue dinner, and multiple chances to win valuable prizes will all come together at the 15th annual Anoka-Ramsey Community College Foundation Golf Tourney on Tuesday, July 25 at 12 p.m. Proceeds from the event will help fund student scholarships on the college’s Coon Rapids Campus.

The event will be held at Majestic Oaks Golf Club in Ham Lake. Teams will play 18 holes of golf with a best-ball scramble. The tournament will include 18 holes of golf with a shotgun start beginning at 1 p.m. Registration for carts and hole assignments will be held from 12 to 12:30 p.m.

Prizes will include a 2006 automobile donated by Coon Rapids Chrysler Jeep, which will go to the first entrant who hits hole-in-one during the tournament; and $10,000, to whomever hits a second hole-in-one during the tournament. Trophies will be awarded for first, second and third place men’s and women’s teams, as well as for the closest to pin, the longest drive, and the longest putt.

Prizes will be awarded at the barbecue dinner, which will begin at 6:30 p.m. Registration fees are $110 per person or $440 per team, which includes 18 holes of golf, use of a golf cart, admittance to the barbecue dinner, individual gift bags, and chances to win door prizes. Additional dinner guests can be registered for $20 per person. Businesses wanting to sponsor a promotional tee sign can do so for $150 per sign.
