A work of artist
and Anoka-Ramsey Community College student
Richard Lindberg
can be viewed in a most unlikely place:
the middle of Medicine Lake in Plymouth,
Minn.
Lindberg
has built a fishing shanty that’s
a 360-degree pinhole camera, his contribution
to a unique art exhibition
called Art Shanty Projects. The camera
actually works, and Lindberg can
produce 360-degree panoramas of the
events
happening during the five-week exhibition. Lindberg is one of more than 30 artists
who have contributed works to Art Shanty
Projects, which includes everything
from architecture, to sculpture, to
performance art, to karaoke, and much
more. Sponsored by The Soap Factory,
a Minneapolis Art Gallery, the exhibition
is open every day through Feb. 19. The exhibition can be found on the
beach and on the lake adjacent to the
parking lot at Medicine Lake. For event
calendars and other details, visit
www.artshantyprojects.org, or call
612-205-6710 or 612-669-0847. ARCC offers an Associate of Fine Arts
in Art degree. The program provides
students with studio experience in
a variety of media, including drawing,
painting, photography, ceramics, sculpture,
glass blowing and more, as well as
a grounding in art history and visual
theory. Fore more information, contact
