ARCC Summer Science Class To Visit Black Hills

Cambridge Campus students will study environmental science and geography on nine-day trip.

A nine-day trip to the Black Hills of South Dakota will provide an outdoor laboratory for a new multi-disciplinary course to be offered in the Summer 2006 term by the Cambridge Campus of Anoka-Ramsey Community College (ARCC).

The course, Geography 1103: “Physical Geography,” will include seven weeks of classroom work, followed by nine days of lab work in the Black Hills. It is being offered through the Geography and Biology Departments on ARCC’s Cambridge Campus.

The multi-disciplinary lab will incorporate hands-on work in both physical geography and environmental science. Students will gain one credit for the physical geography lab and one credit for the environmental science lab. To qualify for the course, students will have to have already taken Biology 1103: “Environmental Science,” or be concurrently enrolled in during the summer term.

For more information on the course, contact Deidra Peaslee, ARCC Cambridge Campus Dean of Educational Services, at 763.433.1829, or by email.
