| The Cambridge Community
College Foundation reported a banner year
during its annual meeting, Aug.14, 2003.
The total of $67,595 raised in 2002-2003
doubled the total funds raised in the
previous year and provided 66 student
scholarships. The scholarships are awarded
to students planning to attend the Cambridge
Campus of Anoka-Ramsey Community College.
The meeting also included elections for
the 2003-2004 Foundation officers. The
results include the following officers:
Al Nelson, Chair; Dennis Troff, Vice Chair;
Juanita Peterson, Secretary; Maggie Kircher,
Treasurer. New board members include Maureen
Bartz, Princeton, Minn.; and Carolyn Fors,
Mora, Minn.
The success of increased donations can
be credited to the Foundation’s
two golf tournaments, a dinner theatre,
a campus campaign as well as a business
campaign. The donations make it possible
for many students to attend college who
might not otherwise be able to do so.
The Foundation will host a Flea Market/Garage
Sale fundraiser at the Cambridge Campus,
Sept. 13. The community is welcome to
attend the event and even purchase a spot
to sell treasures — spots available
for $40. For more information, contact
Lynnette Brambrink at 763-422-3436.
The Foundation would like to thank all
who contributed towards this remarkable
amount. |
