Margaret Bussey,
a part-time art instructor at Anoka-Ramsey
Community College, recently earned second
place in the Printmaking Division of
the Minnesota State Fair Fine Arts Competition.
Bussey’s print, “Under Mendota Bridge,” depicts the underside of one bridge arch of the Mendota Bridge, viewed from the Mississippi riverbank in Fort Snelling State Park. The large color etching was one of nearly 70 entries in the Printmaking Division. All State Fair Fine Arts competitions are judged by recognized individuals in their respective media.

The Minnesota State Fair Fine Arts Competition awarded a second place in the Printmaking Division to "Under Mendota Bridge," a color etching by Artist Margaret Bussey, a part-time art instructor at Anoka-Ramsey Community College.
Bussey teaches drawing and painting classes on the Coon Rapids Campus of Anoka-Ramsey Community College (ARCC). Her artworks can be viewed at ARCC’s open studio event in November, and the Northeast Minneapolis Art Association’s Art-a-Whirl events.
ARCC, which has built a solid reputation for its Art Department, recently added an Associate of Fine Arts degree to its program offerings. The program provides students with studio experience in a variety of media, including drawing, painting, photography, ceramics, sculpture, glass blowing and more, and a grounding in art history and visual theory.
