The $2,500 check will be used to help organize ARCC’s fall gala fundraiser, Prairie Home Delights, which is scheduled for Thursday, September 29, on the Coon Rapids Campus.

Wells Fargo has donated $2,500 to the Anoka-Ramsey Community College Foundation as a corporate sponsor of the fall fundraising gala Prairie Home Delights, open to the public on Thursday, September 29, 6:30-8:30 p.m. on the Coon Rapids Campus. The event is organized by the Foundation to raise funds for student scholarships, faculty grants to enhance the classroom experience, and new equipment for the college.

This 12th annual fundraiser will feature the theme “Memories Are Made of This,” as a tribute to John Weaver, a Foundation Board member and long-time friend of Anoka-Ramsey Community College (ARCC) who passed away this past winter. The theme also highlights the college’s ongoing 40th anniversary celebration. The evening’s festivities will include a bountiful buffet of appetizers and desserts, as well as a silent auction of more than 150 choice goods and services, all provided by area businesses. New this year will be a live auction of a few high-value select items, including a personal computer valued at more than $1,000.

"Wells Fargo’s leadership support contributes immensely to the success of Prairie Home Delights and ultimately, our students," says ARCC Foundation Executive Director, Evelyn Gedde. "This is the largest fund-raising event in support of the Foundation's mission. It impacts the lives of many who could not otherwise afford to attend college."

The Foundation continues to seek sponsorships and donations from local businesses for the event. Reason Computer has signed on as a Gold sponsor, generously donating a computer valued at over $1,000. Also available are Platinum sponsorships for $500. Area restaurants that have already agreed to provide delicacies for the event include Majestic Oaks; Acapulco Restaurante, Coon Rapids; Pizza Pub, Coon Rapids; Jensen’s Foods; Biaggi’s Ristorante Italiano, and Taher Food Service.

For more information about sponsorships and contributions to the Prairie Home Delights event, or to order tickets (available for $25 apiece), call the Foundation Office at 763-422-3329.
