Cambridge Campus Golf Tourney Yields Many Winners

Cambridge Campus Foundation raises more than $5,200 at scholarship fundraiser event.

Fun times and successful fundraising were the outcomes of this year’s Annual Golf Fundraiser sponsored by the Cambridge Community College Foundation of Anoka-Ramsey Community College. The May 24 event held at Deer Meadows Golf Course in Cambridge raised more than $5,200 toward student scholarships.

Out of a field of 10 teams, a foursome headed up by Cambridge Star Publisher Jim Schmitz placed first. Also on the team were George Beck, Tim Newton, and Jennifer Ryan. The second place team included Bill Gelle and Jim Nieswaag from Anoka-Ramsey Community College, as well as Jon Sanford and Brent Borgen.

In addition to the golf tournament itself, the event raised additional funds through the raffling and auctioning of goods and services donated by area businesses and individuals.
