Anoka-Ramsey Community College Faculty Member Wins National Excellence Award

James Biederman, a faculty member in the Psychology Department at Anoka-Ramsey Community College, has been awarded a National Institute for Staff and Organizational Development (NISOD) Excellence Award.

Biederman is the recipient of a National Institute for Staff and Organizational Development Excellence Award.

The NISOD Excellence Award recognizes outstanding faculty who demonstrate continued commitment to excellence within a community college setting. Biederman will be presented with his award in late May at the annual NISOD Conference in Austin, Texas.

NISOD is a worldwide consortium dedicated to the professional development of faculty, administrators and staff at open-access higher education institutions. The organization promotes student success through the continued development of excellence in teaching. More than 600 community colleges around the world are members of NISOD.

“Jim represents excellence in teaching both within and outside the classroom,” says Susan Tarnowski, Anoka-Ramsey Community College Vice President of Educational Services. “In addition to providing high quality instruction, he has worked to promote student success in his role as a faculty club advisor, member and past-chair of our Academic Affairs and Standards Council, and as a Faculty Assessment Coordinator.”
