The NISOD Excellence Award recognizes
outstanding faculty who demonstrate
continued commitment to excellence
within a community college setting.
Biederman will be presented with his
award in late May at the annual NISOD
Conference in Austin, Texas.
NISOD is a worldwide consortium dedicated
to the professional development of
faculty, administrators and staff at
open-access higher education institutions.
The organization promotes student success
through the continued development of
excellence in teaching. More than 600
community colleges around the world
are members of NISOD.
“Jim represents excellence in
teaching both within and outside the
classroom,” says Susan Tarnowski,
Anoka-Ramsey Community College Vice
President of Educational Services. “In
addition to providing high quality
instruction, he has worked to promote
student success in his role as a faculty
club advisor, member and past-chair
of our Academic Affairs and Standards
Council, and as a Faculty Assessment
Coordinator.”
